Has hardware become so unexciting that companies have to add lights and colors to sell anything? What's next, sounds?

Fake engine noises, piped over your speakers?

Aren't there laptops that do that on POST?

Damn. I missed that M.2 for RGB. I can make an easy guess that we'll soon see RGB HDDs and SSDs...with "Gaming" on it. :)

I predict the next trend is them offering matte all-black versions of everything, calling them "stealth" and charging us extra for it.

    +1

It's so annoying trying to find enthusiast-level hardware now that ISN'T colored.

These sorts of products are thankfully not the only ones available to consumers, but thanks in no small part to the increases in costs and the rise of LED lighting, I'm a lot more decisive about finding something else to do with my time than mess around with computer hardware or use said hardware to play a video game.

Come on, RGB-lit hardware is in minimal requirements for Solitair!

I'm all for making things look nice (form), but not at the cost of function. These are gonna make components run hotter by impeding airflow, particularly near the RAM itself.

While I'm not exactly an RGB fiend (I keep the lights that came with my case switched off), that low-poly-style diffuser bar is rather appealing. Not bad. Still, don't see any reason to throw out my TridentZ kit.

I've just recently been made aware of Klevv through my research into DDR4 for a Ryzen build (that stuff is still way too expensive, but slowly getting cheaper). At least now I know that I can trust them, being an SK Hynix brand. :)
