A friend of mine who works at Intel emailed me asking for my help in this. Kyron Horman, the son of an Intel employee, has gone missing. The report is vague but seems to imply that the child went missing somewhere in Multnomah County, Oregon. He is 3'8" tall, weighs 50 lbs and has brown hair/blue eyes. He was last seen wearing black cargo pants, white socks and worn black Sketcher tennis shoes with orange trim. If you have seen him or have any information with regards to his whereabouts please contact the Multnomah County Sherrif's Tip Line at 503-261-2847.

Our hearts go out to the Horman family and we hope for a safe return of their boy. Thanks in advance for your help and for reading this.

Update: More information here.

Since you care so much about this child, how about also looking out for the 44 other missing children in Oregon.

Trying to find one kid is better than telling people they should not have this up and should focus on being a tech site.

    You piece of trash.

now you are probably thinking, man ! I messed this up. How could I be so insensitive ? It is obvious I made a huge mistake so let me try to make it about something else. The good thing is most people here will soon forget abt your screw up, the bad thing is for a long long time when you look at the asshole in the mirror it will remind you how fucked up your attitude was. I am willing to bet you don't have kids and when you do you that's when you will truly regret your post.

Yes, when your kid goes missing, as an Anand member, if you post it in the forums, odds are Anand will put it on the front page. He has put ultra-urgent medical requests on the home page before, too.

Obviously, you don't have kids. I do (I live about five miles South of where this happened, and have a kid in another similar small elementary school in the same school district,) and while I am tiring of the near-constant play this is getting in the local news, I did find it very touching that Anand put it on the home page.

Yes, it may be a bit of overkill, as anyone local has guaranteed heard about it by now (all over every print, audio, and video medium in town; as well as flyers posted all over, including downtown,) but you never know what will help.

I see what you are saying about the big breaking story of the day. That's just how "news" operates. catering to the lowest common denominator in society.

That is why we need to be made aware of sites like this:

    and fund them long term.

Thank you for a civil response.

This tells that most of us who visits AT actually has a LIFE and won't be bothered to sit in front of the computer all day just to look at tech news. Now if you can't deal with it and you're having a hissy fit just cause AT is calling out on his fellow followers to lend a helping hand finding the poor child, where in that dick brain of yours that the sole purpose of AT is only for "tech" news and anything else is forbidden. There is one solution you can consider.

    GET THE HELL OUT!
    Fucking FAG!

And I hope for the boy is found and return home safely.

Please don't let your emotions carry you away.

Also, be on the lookout for the following 44 children in oregon.

It might help if everyone checked that site everyday just as people read anandtech everyday so we can help.

I didn't realise the guy had revealed his sexuality in his post, we'll keep that in mind!
