Can I have that (EXACT) resolution in an X240 Tablet? Please?

Get with the times... convertibles like x2?0T are out, detachables like the Helix are in.

I would be fine with a Helix style device (digitizer pen, detachable keyboard with battery and trackpoint, high resolution IPS screen), but I want Haswell. When is that coming out?

Until it gets an anti-glare coating, I don't care about it.

i also prefer convertibles because it means I can't forget the keyboard, something I deeply care about. Classic rotating convertibles is a very niche market, and I have no illusions about where its going (it's remaining a niche), but its much loved in those niches, thanks to full-sized docking connectors, easily swappable batteries, plenty of IO port, and the permanently attached keyboard.

Give me one of these with a real Wacom-esque stylus (none of that fake finger crap) and it'll be perfect. I'm a bit surprised it only has Bluetooth 3.0 considering 4.0 has been out for a while, but that's more important for smartphones than tablets.

Yea, I can't believe it has Bluetooth 3.0 when Bluetooth 4.0 is on their $149 MemoPad HD7 they announced as well. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Also no wireless ac either. At least update this tablet with Bluetooth 4.0, Asus. I mean, come on...

No wireless. Less space than a Nomad. Lame.

Oh.. maybe this one will not LAG as horribly as current TF700...
  • jordanclock - Monday, June 3, 2013 - link

    My TF700T is quite smooth.

My first thought on this is that 1920x1200 is plenty of pixels at this screen size, so I feel like this won't see much of a real improvement in performance.

Agreed. It might gain a little perf, but not much. This is the res on my 24in dell (which my radeon 5850 doesn't push well in most games). 2560x1600 is too high and squanders performance of a great gpu. Not to mention the games are mostly made for lower res (try getting avadon or avernum to run on nexus 10) and fonts are puny until they start fixing this (I couldn't read the text in the game with 20/15 vision...LOL). They should either be 1080p or 1920x1200 so we can keep all the PC-LIKE effects turned on in the coming waves of mobile games. Why run at a res that slows you down for no real benefit in picture (not on a 10in at 1.5ft anyway). I really hope someone releases T4 in a 1080p or 1920x1200 13in (10in is too small for me). I'll buy that unit, but likely wait for T5 if they continue to force 2560x1600 crap on puny screens. Maybe by then games will have more options in them to turn stuff on or off (like PC games do, I'm sure it's coming soon to mobile) to speed them up/make adjustments and fix fonts.

Titan & 780GTX had to still turn stuff off at hardocp to run 1080p over 30fps. How the heck can we expect a SOC to run higher than a Titan which is still forced to turn off some stuff even at 250w? Maybe at 10nm this would be a great res for a soc on 10in...LOL. And only if other tech helps them (like lower power lcd screens, better battery tech, lower power memory etc etc). But until then they are just forcing devs to deal with the performance hits that such a high res causes. There is a reason consoles are only shooting for 1080p at 30fps and they have 100+watts to work with. It takes two cards to push 1440p and up on the desktop without screwing with settings all day (currently, we'll see what 20nm brings). Great soc, but nice way to shoot it's perf in the head. I digress...I also would have hoped for 802.11ac. I love that all devices are embracing miracast for putting whatever I'm playing on TV though...No more consoles in my future (with or without wires). Just need mobile games to take my xbox360 gamepad more seriously now :) At that point it's HDMI out to tv or miracast (whichever is easy on the TV in use at the time) and back to the couch with the 360 controller in hand.
