Gigabyte Updates Gaming Laptops With Broadwell And Details New Aorus Models

With today’s launch of the quad-core Broadwell laptop parts, there are going to be a lot of devices making the jump over to the new CPU. Pretty much the entire lineup from Gigabyte is getting some attention today, with plenty of news in their P Series lineup.
There are a lot of products from Gigabyte moving to the Core i7-5700HQ processor, which is a 2.7-3.5 GHz quad-core 47 watt part. Here is a table of the models for reference.

Gigabyte also has their Aorus line of gaming laptops, and they have a couple of updates here as well. The X7 line is one of the first notebooks available with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology. The X7 Pro-SYNC is the 17.3” model which features a 1080p IPS G-SYNC display, and is powered by the Haswell Core i7-4870HQ processor and dual GTX970M GPUs in SLI.
New to the lineup is the X5 model which is a 15.6” gaming laptop with GTX 965M in SLI and the Core i7-5700HQ Broadwell processor. It is just 0.9” thick (22.9mm) and weights 5.5 lbs, which is fairly thin and light considering it has two GPUs inside. It comes with 8 GB of DDR3L-1866 memory but has four slots and can handle up to 32 GB of RAM. The display is a 2880x1620 IPS and also support G-SYNC.

OK, however most business projectors now come with HDMI as well. It's time to ditch that 2005 1280 x 720 projector anyhow.How many business users are gonna use this laptop, more likely they'll have corporate crap boxes (with crusty VGA out) anyhow. IMO MSI had the right idea ditching VGA. I will 'cede the power connector location is stupid as all heck :)

lol, 720p projectors? Which world a you living in? I'd be happy if the sites I have to go to (especially in the US) had even 1024x768 projectors, the majority is still using 800x600 which severely screws up any useful presentation/demonstration. The larger the company (== more sophisticated meeting room setups) the shittier the projection system. My guess is that really good projection systems suitable for those rooms have been and still are 5 figures so companies want to use them for a while, plus the effort for wiring and then you'd have to deal with all those shitty "business" notebooks which only have VGA output...pow1983 - Wednesday, June 3, 2015 - link
1080p gaming died for the PC did they not get the memo - 17" 1080p hmmmOdd specs and configurations, I like some of each spec but on every single one there's a show stopper.

Shouldn't they be able to drive any game now or in the future at or near constant 60fps? Or is there another advantage i'm not thinking of?

Smoother frame rates?FPS too high compared to screen refresh rate = tearing
V-sync on = stuttering
too much on screen = sudden dips in FPS
G-sync will smooth out all of that.
